Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar has alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi had colluded with the Bharatiya Janata Party and was playing a new drama of obstructing Parliament proceedings by raising the Muslim reservation issue only to avoid introduction of no-confidence motion moved by the Andhra Pradesh MPs.
Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, he charged the TRS MPs of raising hue and cry over the Muslim reservation issue in Parliament only to avoid introduction of no-confidence motion against the BJP government.
The TRS government passed resolution in the Assembly three years ago for 12% Muslims reservations and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also clarified that the reservation cannot cross 50%, but the TRS Members of Parliament were playing the new drama in Parliament, he said.
He dared the TRS government not to seek votes if it failed to provide 12% reservation to Muslims.
When the TRS government claimed that they would not seek votes if it failed to provide drinking water connection to each household in the State under Mission Bhageeratha programme, it should also follow the same rule if it fails to provide reservation to Muslims, he observed.
Stating that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was scared of revival of the CBI case over his corruption charges as Union Minister, he charged the TRS of making unethical understanding with the BJP and supporting it in various forms right from demonetization, GST, elections to President and Vice President etc.
Reminding that Nizamabad MP Kavitha raised the slogan of “Jai Andhra” in Parliament, he found fault with the TRS MPs for stalling Parliament proceedings and not allowing the Andhra Pradesh MPs to introduce no-confidence motion against the BJP government.
He also ridiculed the TRS MPs for not raising the AP States Reorganisation Act rights to the Telangana State in Parliament.
He also flayed the Chief Minister for continuing to increase debts which had crossed ₹1.7 lakh crore mark within four years after attaining power. He also dared the Chief Minister to sack Minister for IT K. Taraka Rama Rao for encouraging corruption (commissions) in the municipal work and causing resignation of Sircilla Municipal chairperson Pawani.
