The lotus pond is a collection of statement jewellery in uncut diamonds strung together with faceted and cabochon emeralds in different hues and colours. A combination of Zambian, Russian and Colombian emeralds create a strange watery hue that are reminiscent of silent lotus ponds in rural Bengal. A big inspiration for this collection also comes from paintings of Raja Ravi Verma and his sensitive use of colour. On Her: Hand-printed organza saree with a brocade border and hand-embroidered trim. The saree is paired with a hand-embroidered raw silk blouse and a magnificent uncut diamond necklace detailed with desi meena, black spinel, aquamarine and a large multitude of enormous Zambian emeralds. On Him: Hand-embroidered sherwani with signature house buttons and a hand-printed organza safa. From concept to finish, everything is lovingly created by human hands with skill sets passed down through many generations across many centuries. On Her: A pale blush pink silk lehenga hand-embroidered with Indian lotus motifs merging with European flora and fauna. The entire lehenga is meticulously hand-crafted in silk floss and gold and silver ‘tilla’ work. It takes 67 karigars, approximately 32 days to finish this piece of modern heirloom. The look is accessorised with vintage uncut diamond jewellery threaded together with baroque pearls, emeralds, tourmalines and Iranian turquoise beads. Spring-Summer 2018 Preview. Destination weddings are quite shaping the future of bridal wear. Taking cues from our heritage, and marrying them to contemporary needs, we at Sabyasachi are constantly redefining Indian bridal wear. ‘An Endless Summer’ is almost a ready-to-wear take on bridal couture. Effortless chic being the buzzword, the clothes are lighter, brighter, measured and sophisticated. Post Anushka’s wedding, the new beauty trend is ‘au naturel’. Colour gets out of make-up completely and dives into clothes. An imperceptible flush on the cheek, glossy and glassy lips, mirrored sunnies, open hair and statement jewellery create the new look. Wear colour with confidence and mash it up with panache. On the Ladies: Bright coloured ‘Sharifa-buti’ lehengas hand-embroidered in gold and silver threads and super contrast hand-embroidered ravine cholis. Diaphanous organza dupattas in florescent colours create the right amount of ethnic whimsy. The look is accessorised with hand-crafted uncut diamond jewellery from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry collection. On the Gents: Textured white sherwani with house buttons and a chanderi safa.
