Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) on Tuesday cancelled the Class XII Mathematics examination after reports came in of the paper having been being leaked. The exam has now been rescheduled for March 31.
A PSEB official, on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the exam, which was scheduled to begin at 2 pm on Tuesday, was cancelled due to rumours of paper leak. However, the official refused to confirm whether the leak actually happened or not.
The PSEB directed concerned district education officers to print new question papers and distribute those among students. But subsequently, the Board decided to cancel the paper. “Yes, we have cancelled the exam,” PSEB secretary Hargunjit Kaur said. The Board is presently conducting board exams for Class X and XII. The exams started from February 28 and will continue till March 24.
