Passenger Bus falls off cliff in Philippines, 19 dead

At Least nineteen people died and 21 others wounded after a passenger bus fall of a cliff in the central Philippines on Tuesday as the driver lost control.

On Tuesday, the incident occurred when the bus was going to capital Manila where it plunged off a mountain road on Mindoro Island.

Evacuate workers were taking out the deceased and wounded from the bus.

“Cops are probing why the driver lost control — whether there was mechanical trouble or the driver fell asleep,” Tolentino stated.

The photographs of incident have gone viral and it showed rescuer workers putting efforts to rescue people, which fall off 15 metres underneath the Mountain road.

The mishap took place close to Sablayan town. Due to poorly maintained buses and poorly-trained drivers, road mishaps have become so common in Philippines.

As per Police officer Ian Villanosa, “The bus driver also lost his lives during the incident. Part of the winding road where the mishap occurred was under repair.”
