COIMBATORE: Alleging that there is lack of security for its leaders in Tamil Nadu, BJP has decided to conduct a protest on March 23 in Coimbatore to condemn the
attacks on party functionaries.
BJP state chief
Tamilisai Sounderarajan, who visited Coimbatore after party leader CR Nandhakumar’s car was torched, told reporters that the police have failed to provide protection to BJP leaders even after the recent attack on the party office in the city. Visiting
Nandhakumar’s house, she told reporters that police should treat the incident as an attempt to murder case. “In places like Coimbatore, our cadres are not safe at all. Police were aware that after the attack on the BJP office, our office bearers were in danger. But no action was taken,” she said.
“We cannot continue to live in fear. We will hold a protest on March 23 in Coimbatore to condemn such attacks,” she said.
