Boy Scout with Down Syndrome Wasn’t Stripped of Merit Badges, Path to Eagle Scout Rank, Group Says

Boy Scouts of America released a statement saying there are misconceptions about a Utah boy with Down Syndrome who was on the path to Eagle Scout rank.????According to the boy’s father, Chad Blythe, his son, Logan had been earning badges for the past four years in hopes of becoming an Eagles Scout. ????He submitted his badges and last November received an email from the district advancement committee to stop working on his Eagle Project because previously agreed to modifications would not be accepted.????...and according to his father, they were denying his submission for Eagle Scout and revoking all of his badges because Logan did not follow all of the requirements exactly as written.????Chad Blythe then proceeded to file a suit against the organization asking for $1 and for his son to be reinstated.????The Boy Scouts claim that Blythe is still a Boy Scout and still has the option to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, even with modifications.????The organization concluded that the National Disabilities Advancement Team wants to work with Logan’s family to review what he already accomplished and figure out how to move forward.??
