Monster India, one of the leading online career and recruitment solutions providers, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Naval Placement Agency (INPA) to become the exclusive online recruiter to
support the retired and shortly retiring navy veterans, seeking suitable second career opportunities in the corporate world through job listings on Monster India’s website.
The INPA has been established under the aegis of directorate of ex-servicemen affairs at the Indian Naval headquarters in February 2006, as a welfare facility for the retiring / retired naval personnel to facilitate a second career option in the corporate world.
Monster India aims to list more than 1000 opportunities in the next 12 months with a target of increasing this number to 2000 opportunities by the year 2020. The partnership will focus on identifying opportunities in sectors such as capital goods industries, IT, security space, ITeS, MSMEs etc for the uniquely skilled talent pool of INPA.
The INPA pool consists of around 8800 candidates across ranks majority are graduates and post-graduates and possess engineering and
professional degrees such as MBA and LLB. The candidates are tech-savvy and their exposure to foreign navies and cities equip them with relevant skills relevant for the corporate world.
INPA’s Commodore Vivek Karnavat, principal director ex-servicemen affairs said: “Our association with Monster India is to further strengthen the support INPA provides to the navy veterans to identify second career opportunities. To equip the talent pool of INPA with the skill set required for corporate India across ranks, the organisation has been regularly conducting entrepreneurship training with certification under the aegis of National Institute of Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship (NIESBUD). In addition to this, all retiring sailors undergo Skill Development Courses, wherein they are certified under the Recognition of Prior Learning scheme. INPA also has an association with Indian Institute of Management (IIM) for officers who are keen to follow a career later in management. These endeavors have successfully resulted in placing candidates in over 5400 vacancies in the last three years.”
