Four McMaster students, police say, have been charged after racing, Tuesday, through a winding, narrow street in Burlington in the middle of the afternoon.
On Tuesday around 3:30 p.m., police say a Burlington officer heard the sounds of 'loud revving engines.'
Police say the officer then watched the four vehicles travelling at 'excessive speeds', of 105-110 km/h towards his direction.
The officer managed to stop all four vehicles together.
Upon further investigation police say they discovered all four drivers knew each other through McMaster University.
The drivers range from 18 to 20-years-old.
Police say all four vehicles were impounded for seven days. The students have been charged with street racing.
The drivers will appear in court on April 17, 2018.
The vehicles that were impounded were:
- 2017 Ford Focus
- 2015 Porche Macan SUV
- 2017 BMW 440i
- 2016 BMW 435i
