Robust demand lifts chana futures by 0.60%

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Chana prices were higher by 0.60 per cent to Rs 3,716 per in futures trade today as participants raised bets, driven by rising demand from dal mills at spot market.

Besides, tight stocks position following drop in arrivals from producing regions, fuelled the uptrend.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in far-month May rose by Rs 22, or 0.60 per cent to Rs 3,716 per with an open interest of 23,550 lots.

Likewise, the commodity for delivery in April gained Rs 20, or 0.55 per cent to Rs 3,681 per in 88,820 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in chana prices to up tick in demand in the physical market against restricted supplies from producing regions.
