Party lawmakers asked to mount an effective defence

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu accused the BJP, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Jana Sena Party of diverting the people’s agenda which is to get the Central government to implement the A.P. Reorganisation Act and fulfil the assurances given in the Rajya Sabha.

He said the YSRCP and the Jana Sena were not uttering a word against the BJP but continued to criticise the TDP knowing fully well that it was the responsibility of the Central government to keep its commitments.

In a teleconference on Tuesday, Mr. Naidu asked the MPs, MLCs, MLAs and party leaders to closely follow the developments to mount an effective defence against the joint offensive by rivals.

He said Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Pawan Kalyan were acting like coverts of the BJP.

Mr. Kalyan went to the extent of levelling corruption charges on Nara Lokesh. The entire drama is going according to the BJP’s script, the CM reiterated.

‘Pawan lost his credibility’

Meanwhile, at a press conference, Deputy Chief Minister N. Chinarajappa said Mr. Kalyan did not speak about his future plans and refrained from criticising the BJP at the party’s formation day celebrations. Instead, he devoted the entire time to making baseless allegations against the State government.

Mr. Chinarajappa questioned the use of the Jana Sena Party’s joint fact-finding committee.

By pulling up the State government allegedly at the behest of the BJP, Mr. Kalyan fell in the eyes of the public, he said.

Ministers K. Kala Venkat Rao and P. Narayana were present.
