The following student-athletes have been selected to The Washington Post’s 2018 Winter All-Met ice hockey team.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Jack Taylor, F, Sr., Churchill
An imposing player capable of contributing from any of the forward positions, Taylor had 29 goals and 23 assists in 23 games as a senior as he captained Churchill to its fourth straight Maryland Student Hockey League championship. Standing 6-foot-5 before he steps into skates, Taylor covers open ice with long strides and navigates tight spaces with footwork mastered as a lacrosse defenseman. He is Churchill’s all-time leading goal scorer, with 102 in 100 games. He will play lacrosse at Brown.

FIRST TEAM
Lacey Eden, F, So., Spalding
The crafty forward posted four goals and three assists in 12 games on the top line for the Cavaliers boys’ team, and she added eight of her 37 goals for the girls’ team in its win in the Mid-Atlantic Girls Hockey League final.

Victor Musoke, F, So., O’Connell
The speedy forward with a smart scoring touch racked up 50 points in 33 games as the Knights won their first Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League title since 2009.

Mitch Rebholz, F, Sr., Broad Run
The constant breakaway threat earned player of the year honors in the NVSHL by scoring 26 goals and adding 10 assists in 10 regular season games.

Jack Stanley, D, Sr., Washington-Lee
The two-way defenseman led the Capital Scholastic Hockey League by posting 12 goals and 12 assists in 11 games.
Andrew Takacs, G, Jr., DeMatha
The instinctual shot-stopper led all Mid-Atlantic Prep Hockey League goalies who made at least 10 regular season starts with a 1.50 goals against average before the Stags reached their first league final since 2012.

Chase Vallese, D, Sr., Gonzaga
The only repeat first-team selection showed a knack for clutch goals as he captained the Eagles to their second straight MAPHL title and The Post’s No. 1 ranking.

Cole Vallese, F, So., Gonzaga
The smooth skater with full-ice vision posted 34 points in 21 games, including two goals on three-on-five penalty kills. He is committed to Providence.

COACH OF THE YEAR
Bill Slater, Gonzaga
In his fourth season on Eye Street, Slater coached the Eagles through a frenetic schedule loaded with top teams from the area and around the country to emerge with a second straight MAPHL title. Gonzaga (22-5-1) held on to the top spot in The Post’s rankings from start to finish by losing just once against local competition — in a shootout against O’Connell in the WCAC semifinals.
