VAUXHALL
Vauxhall Corsa GSi will return this year after a 25-year hiatus.
The popular supermini will get the performance-focused GSi guise and improved sporting credentials.
It is the latest model to adopt Vauxhall GSi’s “performance through dynamics” theme, following the recent launch of the Insignia GSi.
Vauxhall will base a lot of the same key chassis and design elements of the GSi on the current Corsa VXR.
The carmaker said the car will be an ‘agile and purposeful driver’s car, but with all the space and efficiency of the regular model’ in a press release.
It will be made exclusively in the three-door Corsa body but will be given a raft of upgrades to distinguish it from the regular model.
These design cues include large air intakes, honeycomb front grille and deep sill extensions and carbon-trimmed features adorn its flanks.
A front bonnet scoop, deep rear spoiler, and chrome tailpipe complete the sportier look of the new car.
The spoiler is not superfluous but will instead provide downforce to the rear suspension at higher speeds.

Inside the car, there are a number of sporty updates including Recaro seats, leather steering wheel, and aluminium pedals.
Much like the majority of other Corsas on sale , the GSi will also come with Vauxhall’s infotainment system, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The car sits on 18-inch alloy wheels with red painted callipers and share the same suspension and brakes with the current 210PS Corsa VXR.
More information including the car’s price and performance specs will be revealed later this year, when order books open.
