‘Over 12,000 developed plots have been registered till date’

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) is all set to launch itinerant (mobile) registration offices to facilitate registration of reconstituted developed plots in the 29 villages comprising the core capital region. Farmers now have a choice to sell the developed plots or give them to developers. Market values of developed plots are priced between ₹10,000 and ₹15,000 per square yard.

Six such mobile registration offices would be launched at Navuluru, Nidamarru, Venkatapalem, Rayapudi, Thullur and Sakhamuru villages in a day or two to enable farmers who have been allotted developed plots in residential and commercial areas to register.

Single registration form

The personnel of the registration department would collect the single registration form from the applicants and process the application and submit in the Sub-Registrar offices at Mangalagiri and Thulluru.

“The CRDA is in the final stage of training the personnel, computerisation of the records and selecting places to collect the applications. This is the first-of-its kind initiative to facilitate registration of developed plots,” said a senior official.

Registration of reconstituted developed plots has picked up pace since last month. The CRDA said that 12,000 registrations have taken place till now. “Farmers are coming forward to register their plots since January this year. In the year 2017, we have 6,000 registrations but they have doubled since February,” said the official.

The APCRDA has taken up land pooling to acquire 33,000 acres in 29 villages across Thullur, Tadikonda and Mangalagiri mandals for the construction of the new capital Amaravati. Landowners are allotted 1,000 square yards in the residential zone, and 250 square yards in the commercial zone (dry lands) and 450 square yards in ‘jareebu’ lands.

The CRDA has later allotted developed plots in residential and commercial zones through lottery system. It hopes to complete the process of registration of nearly 77,000 reconstituted developed plots over the next six months.
