Alliance Française de Bhopal, the Indo-French cultural centre is celebrating International Francophonie Week at its centres in Bhopal and Indore. The week began here on Tuesday in Bhopal centre.
The Francophonie Week or La semaine de la Francophonie is a celebration of French language and culture by its enthusiasts in the form of poetry contests, writing competition, cooking contest and more. This year, it is the 23rd edition of this week.
To begin with the Francophonie Week, an international level contest about French language and culture was held on Tuesday. The contest Plume d’Or is all about knowing the tradition and culture of France. Interestingly the participating students get to win a free trip to Paris.
Besides, various other events are also organized under the week. These events include Goût de France which is a Cooking contest on French cuisine to be held on March 21. Good France is a celebration of French gastronomy that will bring together 3000 restaurants and 150 embassies over five continents.
Chefs from around the world will come together for a meal to celebrate the vitality of French cuisine and unite around the joint values of sharing and pleasure in a planet-friendly and healthy way. In India, around 63 restaurants have participated in the contest.
At Alliance française de Bhopal, the students will participate in a cooking contest and will be judged by a chef from Courtyard by Marriott.
On March 23 screening of the film, Astérix and the Vikings will be held at Alliance Francaise de Bhopal. On March 24 a musuc concert Tritha Electric. A fusion band of France and Delhi will be held at Tribal Museum.
Besides, on March 27, students of Alliance Francaise de Bhopal will present theatrical performances of French plays. This will be held also to observe the World Theatre Day on March 27.
