Kejriwal to hold all-party meet with SC panel today

Taking cognisance of the ongoing sealing drive in Delhi's market, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will hold all-party meeting with the Supreme Court-appointed Monitoring Committee to find a solution to the issue.

A Delhi Government official said that the Chief Minister has invited leaders of the Congress and the BJP to attend the meeting to be held with the committee at the Delhi Secretariat.

It may be noted that last week, Kejriwal had sought an appointment with the Supreme-Court appointed panel to discuss the sealing issue.

“The committee members will come to Delhi Secretariat on Wednesday on the request made by the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister has also invited BJP and Congress leaders to attend this meeting,” the official added.

Leader of Opposition (LoP) in th eDelhi Assembly Vijednra Gupta said that they will be attending all-party meeting convened by the Chief Minister. Gupta said he discussed the issue with Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari and they both will be going for the meeting.

The Delhi Congress also said the party will send a set of delegation to attend the meet.

Earlier this month, Kejriwal had held an all-party meeting to find a solution to the ongoing sealing drive being carried out by municipal corporations against commercial establishments for violating civic norms since December last year following the directions of Monitoring Committee.

During the meeting held at Kejriwal's residence on March 13, the AAP and the Congress had agreed to raise their voice in Parliament through their MPs against the drive. Traders have been affected by the move to shut down commercial establishments.
