The power plant of 144 megawatt capacity Chilla Hydroelectric Power plant of Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVNL) has achieved its annual generation target a month before the financial year ends on March 31. While 788.00 million unit power production was the target set by the central electricity authority for the financial year 2017-18, the unit has surpassed the set target of 788.00 million unit power production by two weeks ago on March 19, UJVNL managing director SN Verma said. The month of February and March has been an important month for Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVNL) in view of power generation. It should be mentioned here that Chilla Hydroelectric Power plant was commissioned in 1981 and is situated on Ganga river in the border district of Pauri district.
