new delhi: Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, feted and honoured the winners of the JK Tyre - Constitution Club of India Club Car Rally for Parliamentarians at a gala function late here on Monday evening. MP Nishikant Dubey and his navigator Anu Dubey and Ishan Verma and navigator Ishita Verma bagged the top honours, winning the first prize in the Parliamentarians Category and in the Open category. Over 50 MPs, bureaucrats and various other dignitaries participated in memory of all the parliamentarians who lost their lives in road accidents.

KXIP's home leg to start in Mohali

mohali: Kings XI Punjab on Tuesday announced a small change in their Season 11 home schedule as they will play their first three matches at the iconic Mohali stadium and then cap it off with four matches at Indore. The side was originally slated to play their initial matches at Indore but logistical difficulties forced a change in the calendar. However, fans from either venue won't be too disappointed. Mohali, known to be quite a batting paradise, will get to see big hitters from Kings XI Punjab competing with those from MS Dhoni's CSK, David Warner's Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gautam Gambhir's Delhi Daredevils.

Mizoram upset Goa

kolkata: Mizoram produced a stunning upset to down six-time champions Goa 3-1, while an own goal by Odisha gave Punjab a lucky 2-1 win, in the group B opening fixtures of the national football championship for the 72nd Santosh Trophy here on Tuesday. Goa drew the first blood through captain Victorino Fernandes in the 11th minute but it was a one-way traffic for Mizoram from the 25th minute onwards as F Lalrinpuia brought the scores level before Lal Romawia's brace (81st and 84th) sealed three points for the 2013-14 winners at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium. Former champions Punjab also rallied from a goal down to beat Odisha 2-1 at the Sailen Manna Sports Complex in Howrah Maidan. Mizoram went on top of the group with with three points and lead Punjab on a better goal difference.

Rabada cleared for Aussie Tests

cape town: South Africa's Kagiso Rabada was cleared to play the remaining two Tests against Australia after winning an appeal against his ban over an alleged shoulder barge on Tuesday. The ICC said Rabada had been found not guilty of making inappropriate and deliberate physical contact with Australian captain Steve Smith during the second Test in Port Elizabeth. Judicial commissioner Michael Heron of New Zealand found Rabada guilty of the lesser charge of conduct contrary to the spirit of the game following an appeal hearing on Monday. Heron reduced Rabada's penalty from three demerit points to one, and reduced his fine from 50% to 25% of his match fee.
