Archbishop of Bombay meets PM Modi

Mumbai: Cardinal Oswald Gracias, the Archbishop of Bombay, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Tuesday. The Archbishop, who is also the newly-elected president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI), discussed the possibility of Pope Francis’ visit to India.

A CBCI statement said the PM reacted positively to this. The Cardinal also discussed the anxiety in certain sections of the community over the sporadic attacks on minority institutions. He told the PM that a message should go out that these acts of violence are against the law.
