Goods worth lakhs of rupees were gutted at a packaging material manufacturing unit in Govindpura Industrial Area after a massive fire broke out in the early morning hours on Tuesday.
The short-circuit borne fire took massive shape and more than two dozen fire tender vehicles took around 8 hours to pacify the fire.
Fire tender officials told that it was a short circuit borne fire which engulfed the whole factory. Initially the fire tenders tried to pacify the fire but as the space was less for the water pipes one of the walls of the unit was broken which helped to control the fire rapidly.
At around 12 noon the fire was controlled. The owner of the unit was not able to ascertain the loss in the fire as still smoke was still coming out of the unit.
The unit is owned by Faizan a resident of Budhwara and an estimated loss in the fire was Rs 25 lakh. His relative Sohail Ali told that he used to shut the unit in the evening and received information on Tuesday morning that the fire broke at the unit.
The fire broke out at around 3 am and was spotted by security guard of unit and fire brigade and police were informed.
The security guard managed to remove more inflammable materials and goods. He also removed Oxygen cylinder.
The factory owned machines and materials used for packaging which were gutted in fire. The most common pattern which is found after every incident of fire, no measures of fire safety were found at the unit.
