Telugu Desam MLC YVB Rajendra Prasad on Tuesday demanded that it was time the Telugu film industry came out in support of the struggle for the Special Category Status (SCS) or be ready to be “ostracised”.
‘Harbour no fear’
Speaking at the Assembly Media Point here, he asked why Tollywood members were quiet in the face of such injustice. He said they need not harbour any fear because they reside in Telangana.
“Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao, his son KTR, daughter Kavitha and nephew Harish Rao have all made statements supporting the Status,” Mr Prasad said.
He said Tollywood members who depend on cinema ticket money paid by the Telugus were obliged to participate in the agitation.
