Ford Raptor Can’t Fit On UK Roads But Can Bully An Audi RS3

Few vehicles are more “American” than the Ford F-150 Raptor, thus making it a really absurd proposition in overseas regions like Europe.

It’s not just the combination of the way more expensive fuel with its inherent drinking problem; it’s also the sheer size of it. Especially in countries like the United Kingdom, the Ford Raptor moves around with the same ease a sumo wrestler exits crowded elevators. It’s a bit of a squeeze.

However, nothing of the above detracts anything from the Raptor’s genuine talent, both on and off road. Apparently and despite its humble origins, Ford’s top pickup truck is not afraid of fast driving on the tarmac, even against some really fast metal out there like the Audi RS3.

Power comes from the twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, which pumps out 450hp and 510lb-ft of torque, paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Combine this firepower with an incredibly beefy suspension and is no wonder that the Raptor continues to impress on the other side of the Atlantic too.

Watching though the Ford F-150 Raptor trying to navigate its way on UK’s really narrow roads will give you a really good idea of why this super-truck will never find a sizeable audience there.

It’s still pretty badass though, as explained by Steve Sutcliffe in the latest video of Auto Express.

The Raptor isn’t larger than a Range Rover or a MB GLS or G wagon. How do those do on tight roads in the UK?

The Raptor is absurd for the U.K. Probably the same for most of Europe…not so for Scandinavia, Russia, Ukraine and points South. “Thirst” is not the problem. Utility is everything.

You can buy it norway as a 2 seater commersial car, the price is shockly 168000 dollar.
