2019 Ford Fusion Arrives Late Summer with Updated Styling and Tech

The 2019 Ford Fusion will make its public debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show later this month.

The updated sedan is the first Ford vehicle offered globally with standard Co-Pilot360, an advanced suite of standard driver-assist technologies that was announced previously. Ford Co-Pilot360 includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot information system, lane keeping system, a rear backup camera, and auto high-beam lighting. The American automaker says it’s the only package featuring all those technologies that comes standard on a vehicle and every 2019 Ford Fusion model benefits.

In addition to updated styling that features a sleeker front and rear design, the 2019 Fusion also gains new wheels and color choices. Changes to the exterior include a new grille with a five-bar design finished in chrome on S, SE, and SEL models, as well as a new chrome mesh on Titanium trim. There are also a new trunk lid panel, fog lamps, and LED tail lights. Ford also said there will be a simplified lineup that will make it easier to order the Fusion.

Plug-in hybrid shoppers will be happy to hear the 2019 Ford Fusion Energi is projected to offer an EPA-estimated electric-only range of 25 miles, an improvement of nearly 20 percent compared to the current model.
