French cyber security analyst Robert Baptiste on Tuesday claimed that he had found vulnerabilities in a government agency.

In a tweet to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s official handle, the analyst said, “Hi @TelanganaCMO, a security issue has been found in your system, can you contact me in private? cc @MinIT_Telangana”.

It was later found that the issue was with the Telangana government’s agency, Telangana Overseas Manpower Company Limited (TOMCOM).

When contacted, Information Technology Principal Secretary said that the issue had been rectified. “Much before he (Mr. Baptiste) claimed to have found out the vulnerability, we were aware of it. It has already been rectified. It pertains to a government of Telangana agency called TOMCOM,” he said.

Mr. Ranjan declined to comment further.
