Blazing absinthe towers, the “best menu ever” and a view from the eastern edge of the Judaean Desert — just another business trip for Elon Musk.
The Tesla TSLA, -0.55% boss made an Instagram splash this week when he posted highlights of his journey to Israel, but it wasn’t all fun and flames. Musk was apparently in Tel Aviv to discuss a possible deal with artificial intelligence firm Cortica, the Globes financial news website reported.
Cortica aims to help make self-driving cars smarter and safer with AI that can predict changes in the car’s surroundings and react accordingly. “The technology is backed by more than 200 patents and 10 years of cutting-edge research, and is revolutionizing visual intelligence for a smarter and safer world,” the company explains.
Word of a potential deal wasn’t the buzzy topic on social media, however. Instead, it was Musk’s series of highlights from his trip that fired up his 6.8 million Instagram followers, starting with his visit to a Jerusalem speakeasy:
