Ford has revealed details about the new Fiesta Active, a crossover variant of the popular supermini.
It was first revealed towards the end of 2016, as the new 2017 range of the Fiesta was unveiled.
The car is now available to order in the UK with prices starting at £17,790.
Britain’s best-selling car is now entering new territory with the Fiesta Active and into one of the busiest and most congested market segments in Europe.
Three versions of the new Fiesta SUV will go on sale - Active 1, Active B&O PLAY and Active X.
All three models feature distinctive SUV looks with a rugged bodykit, rough-road suspension with increased ride height, roof rails, front fog lights and 17inch five-spoke alloy wheels.
Powering the range is Ford’s 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine which is offered with four different power outputs: 85PS, 100PS, 125PS and 140PS, allied to a new six-speed manual gearbox delivering from 105g/km CO2 emissions.
Ford’s 85PS 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine is also available as an option with low CO2 emissions from 96g/km.
All engines come with Auto Start-Stop technology to improve fuel economy and a new Eco button has been added to improve efficiency.
There are also three driving models - Eco, Normal and Slippery - for different road conditions and off-roading is assisted by Ford’s Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) with Hill Start Assist.
The Fiesta range is known for being one of the safest small cars on the market, earning a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

It comes with standard driver and front passenger airbags, front side impact airbags and front and side rear curtain airbags and aided by front and rear seat belt pre-tensioners.
In addition to this there is anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution and Electronic Stability Control.
On-road safety is boosted thanks to lane-keeping technology, rear seat belt minder, rear centre headrest, auto headlamps, Ford’s Quickclear heated windscreen for faster getaways on frosty mornings and the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), while passenger comfort aids include electric front and rear windows, rear privacy glass, driver seat height and lumbar adjustment and air-conditioning.
All variants come with Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system as standard which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and can be controlled via vouch or touch commands.

The Fiesta Active B&O PLAY comes with an enhanced audio system comprised of 360-degree sound and 10 speakers.
This variant also comes with black roof with black roof rails and matching electrically operated and heated door mirrors, a yellow colour theme and additional features such as cruise control, rain sensing wipers, auto-dimming rear view mirror, a centre console with armrest and illuminated cup holders, plus a 4.2in TFT instrument cluster screen with traffic sign recognition.
At the top of the range is the Active X which comes with partial leather upholstery with heated front seats, power-foldable door mirrors with puddle lights, Ford SYNC 3 Navigation system with DAB radio and 8in touchscreen, the KeyFree system with keyless entry and start, and a rear-view camera with rear parking sensors.
Prices for the entire range start at £17,790 for the Fiesta Active 1 and £19,190 with B&O PLAY and £20,290 for the Active X.
