BETHLEHEM — As part of an effort to reduce drug and alcohol offenses over St. Patrick's Day weekend, town police launched a DWI crackdown and also partnered with the state Liquor Authority on an alcohol sale compliance check.
Among the three drivers charged were Tammy A. Kleinke, 18, of Ravena who crashed her vehicle on Corning Hill Road in Glenmont at 5:41 p.m. on Friday, March 16. Police determined that Kleinke, whose license was revoked as a result of a prior DWI arrest, was allegedly under the influence of drugs.
She was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, misdemeanor driving while ability impaired as well as vehicle and traffic law violations.
Bethlehem police also partnered with the state Liquor Authority to conduct an alcohol sale compliance check. The police visited 18 businesses that sell alcohol and found three that sold it to people under the age of 21.
Among those arrested was Gurjinder Singh, 30, of Glenmont who was working at Glenmont Mobil. The day after he was arrested for the alleged sale of alcohol to those too young to consume it, the gas station called police alleging that Singh stole thousands of dollars from the station and then left the store unattended.
Police are searching for Singh. Anyone with information on Singh's whereabouts is asked to call the Bethlehem police at (518) 439-9973.
