A man has died after a two-car crash near the Northland town of Awanui.
The crash happened on State Highway 10, east of Godinovich Rd, just before 5:45pm on Tuesday.
The man had been trapped and was freed by Fire and Emergency staff, but died at the scene, police said.
A woman was flown by helicopter to Whangarei Hospital with serious injuries.
Two others involved in the crash received less serious injuries.
