LUDHIANA: Following the clash between murder accused and
drug peddler inside
Ludhiana Central Jail on Sunday, aides of the latter shot at brother of the murder accused at
Satjot Nagar at
Dugri-Dhandra road on Tuesday afternoon. The accused barged into his house, pumped in two bullets in his body and fled form spot.
The injured, who has suffered bullet injury in his thigh, was rushed to hospital where his condition in stated to be stable.
The victim has been identified as
Varundeep Singh, 30, whose brother Arjun is lodged in jail under charges of attempt to murder.
Following the information the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP- Sadar) Ramandeep Bhullar and Sadar police reached on spot.
The police have procured CCTVs installed in the area, in which the accused have been captured. The police have identified the accused as Dicky Kinna and Commando and registered a case of attempt to murder against it.
The injured, Varundeep Singh said on Tuesday afternoon when he was present at home the accused turned up there on a motorcycle. The accused knocked at the door. As he opened the door, the accused opened fire on him. Two bullets hit him in his thigh and he fell down on the ground and accused fled form there.
The SHO at police station Sadar, Inspector Sukdev Singh, said that Arjun is lodged in jail as undertrial in a murder case. Arjun on Sunday indulged in a scuffle with another under trial Tony,arrested by Khanna police for drug peddling.Tony has threatened Arjun for teaching him a lesson.
The SHO added that Tony has planned attack on brother of Arjun through his aides. The police launched a manhunt for the arrest of the accused.
