Allies disenchanted with BJP, says Mayawati

LUCKNOW: BSP chief Mayawati on Monday attempted to drive a wedge between BJP and its allies by saying that some disenchanted allies have started speaking against the ruling party.

Her statement came after Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief and UP cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar skipped the function organised to celebrate the one year rule of Yogi government. Rajbhar has been critical of the state government and termed its machinery of being corrupt and unable to control the law and order situation.

Terming BJP’s celebration as ‘Ek saal buri misaal’, Mayawati said the byelection results in Gorakhpur and Phulpur are a mandate on the functioning of the ruling BJP and CM Adityanath Yogi.

She said that instead of serving crores of poor, the CM mostly remains engaged in prayers and attending to religious affairs. “Serving the poor is a prayer in itself,” Mayawati said.
