Stacey Slater’s (played by Lacey Turner) mum Jean (Gillian Wright) burst back into Walford and put a spanner in the works. Has Mo Harris (Laila Morse) finally been exposed?
As the doorbell rang, Mo jumped, prompting Stacey to question: “Why are you so jumpy? Are you expecting someone?”
Jean then burst through the door with frustration about her train journey, before revealing all.
She said: “Martin called me. I came as soon as I could. The train was packed, then it was delayed.

I only spoke with her earlier. She’s not dead!
“Then this great big fat man went and sat on me… said he couldn’t see me!
“Well how could he not see me? The world’s gone mad Stacey, there’s too many people in it.”
Mo then walked down the corridor and jibed: “And there’s one less now!”
Shocked at Mo’s sudden return, Jean asked: “Mo, when did you get here? Stace… I don’t know what to say. Actually, there’s plenty. That’s the reason why I came.
“Only, Martin said that Kat’s dead. He was joking wasn’t he?”

Stacey then said: “Well, that’s a bit of a rotten joke mum.”
Confused, Jean explained: “What? Well, why’s he saying it? He really thinks it? Oh that’s madness! Well it is, because I only spoke with her earlier. She’s not dead!”
Stacey gasped: “What?” As Mo looked shifty and implied that Jean, who suffers with mental health, was “mad”.
Viewers instantly took to social media following Jean’s explosive revelation, with one fan tweeting: “Trust #Jean to let the #Kat out of the bag #EastEnders."
“Jean revealed to Stacey that Kat's alive, Mo has a lot of explaining to do! #EastEnders,” posted another.

A third added: “I love Jean Slater I've missed her so much #EastEnders.”
“Haha! Brilliant way to return in good fashion. Jean Slater announcing that Kat isn't dead. Mo's screaming in her insides now. Anyone for sausage surprise? #EastEnders @bbceastenders,” wrote another.
A fifth said: “I have so many questions... Jean said she spoke to Kat... did Kat change her number? Didn’t anyone bother to confirm the body? This storyline is a mess #EastEnders.”
EastEnders continues this Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm.
