NOIDA: A 16-year-old class IX student of a private school committed suicide at her Noida home on Tuesday evening.
The family members of the student, who belonged to Delhi-based Ahlcon International School, allege that she took the extreme step due to "pressure" from school teachers.
The family had gone outside for some work and returned home to find the door locked from inside. “They broke open the door and found her hanging from a ceiling fan. She was rushed to
Kailash Hospital where she was declared dead,” said a relative.
A police team scanned the house but could not find any suicide note from the spot.
The family says that the student was under pressure due to studies, but didn't elaborate further. They are now seeking legal advice to explore further course of action.
A police official said that the family has not filed any written complaint so far. “The body has been sent for a post-mortem and reports are awaited. We will investigate the matter once a complaint is filed,” he said.
