Tangedco gets new CMD

Sai Kumar, IAS, has been given the responsibility of steering the power utility Tangedco struggling to keep Tamil Nadu free from power cuts.
Kumar has had a good stint as Principal Secretary of the Public Works Department for over three years. He will take over as the Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) after the incumbent K Gnanadesikan was made Chief Secretary. In the reshuffle of a dozen IAS officers, Revenue Secretary Gagandeep Singh Bedi was posted as Secretary, Rural Development & Panchayat Raj. NS Palaniappan, Rural Development Secretary till now, was posted as Public Works Secretary.
