Avengers Captain Marvel: FIRST pictures of Brie Larson in costume filming on set

This is the first official look at the actress as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel.

Shooting started on the Los Angeles sets today and showed the comicbook hero is full action hero mode.

Fans will immediately star to scrutinise all the images of her iconic dark green costume.

Brie Larson certainly looks suitably strong and powerful suited up as potentially the most powerful MCU hero of all.

Captain Marvel writer Geneva Robertson-Dworet has recent;y revealed what fans can expect from the latest Marvel Studios hero.

She said: "Oh, man, I love that character! We really were bringing so much of what was already in the comics onto the screen, it felt like, in terms of the amazing character who's so funny and sassy and talks back, and she's fearless. I love that Carol Danvers is so funny.

"She has a blast when she kicks ass. Those comics are amazing! It's an amazing world and sandbox to play in. You're working with incredible creative people, every day. I had a total dream experience."

The movie has only just started filming and is expected to hit cinemas next year.

Little is known about the plot so far, except the film is set in the early 1990s and will feature the Skrulls as the villains. This references the classic Kree-Skrull War from the Marvel Comics.

Larson is expected to make an appearance in Avengers Infinity War, but as Carol Danvers, the human alter ego of Captain Marvel.
