Police in Mt. Pleasant are asking for help identifying a man they say urinated on a snack display in the middle of a gas station convenience store over the weekend.

The incident was caught on store security video camera at the Shell Gas Station on the corner of Mission and Broomfield beginning just after 2 a.m. Friday.

Video: Man appears to urinate on snack display

Video shows a dark-haired man police described as between 18 and 25-years-old walk to back of the store along a row of coolers, then down the end aisle.

It appears he reaches into his pants then walks around the corner, where he and another young man interact and appear to laugh.

The suspect then rounds the corner up another aisle, unzips his pants and stands facing a snack rack, displaying all the body language of a man relieving himself at a urinal.

During the 25 or so seconds he apparently urinates on the products, the man casually picks up a bag off the shelf and appears to read the back of the package, according to store security footage.

The man then appears to zip up his pants and buckle his belt, slightly stumbling into the display racks while doing so.

At one point another customer enters the store, and the alleged urinator waits in another aisle, leaning against the racks as the other customer walks through the area the suspect may have relieved himself moments earlier.

After the random customer walks out of the frame, the suspect brings his acquaintance to the area where he appeared to have urinated, pointing to the floor, then stumble-bumping into each side of the aisle as he tries to walk away.

The suspected snack-rack urinator left in a gold passenger vehicle, according to police records.

A female store clerk reported the incident and officers from the Mt. Pleasant Police Department were able to watch surveillance footage to gather details.

Investigators estimate the incident caused about $100 in damage.

They’re asking for help identifying the man in the video; anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Angela Brown at 989-779-4100, ext. 6003; or by calling the agency’s tip line at 989-779-9111.
