Several drug-related charges stemming from a traffic stop led to a person’s arrest by the Alma Police Department.
A traffic stop on Feb. 25 led to the arrest of a person for operating with the presence of a schedule one drug, possession of marijuana, and operating a vehicle without security, according to the monthly report for February included in the March 13 city commission meeting packet.
Also, a drug suspected to be methamphetamine was also seized during the traffic stop.
Lab results are pending to positively identify the substance.
Found laying in the middle of Superior Street, a man found to be intoxicated was arrested on Feb. 24 for disorderly conduct.
Police arrested two people after a traffic stop on Feb. 22.
The driver was arrested for operating a vehicle without security and driving with an improper plate. The passenger was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant.
An officer arrested a subject on an outstanding warrant on Feb. 17 after they recognized the subject and knew the person had an oustanding warrant.
After a woman reported someone was trying to break into her home, police arrested a subject on Feb. 9 for home invasion, resisting and obstructing an officer, and assaulting a police officer.
Police handled 255 calls for service in February.
There were 235 traffic stops in February, down from 258 in January.
Police issued 25 moving violation citations in February, down from 27 in January.
In February, there were 29 citations issued for non-moving violations, down from 32 the previous month.
Police made seven felony arrests and 33 misdemeanor arrests in February, down from nine felony arrests and 48 misdemeanor arrests in January. There was one city ordinance violation in February and January, respectively.
The total number of accidents in February were 13, down from 39 in January.
