MP 'escapes' from stir venue, held

Lok Sabha member Sanganna Karadi on Monday 'disappeared' from the scene during a protest to attract Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's attention, seeking water for a second crop for farmers in the Tungabhadra command area. The chief minister was to launch a number of development works in the town.

The police had been waiting near his house since morning. As BJP workers gathered near Karadi's house, he 'escaped' from the house to evade arrest. The police followed him up to a distance, till the district hospital, and arrested him.

District Superintendent of Police Anoop A Shetty and other officers were present.
