Vehicle sales by province: Where South Africans are buying cars

Cape Town - Naamsa reports that 46 347 vehicles were sold locally in February, a decline of 1854 units or -3.8% from the 48 201 vehicles sold in February 2017. 

Overall, out of the total reported Industry sales of 46 347 vehicles, an estimated 38 920 units or 84% represented dealer sales, an estimated 9.7% represented sales to the rental Industry, 3.7% to industry corporate fleets and 2.6% to government.

But where are South Africans buying cars?

Gauteng - tops the list 

Lightstone Auto has revealed SA passenger vehicle sales for February 2018.

Stats show that Gauteng remains the province where the most vehicles are sold (11 293 units), while 4324 and 3753 vehicles were sold in KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape respectively.
