India Open Snooker C’ship from March 21

Pune: Promising top-draw players on the Indian snooker circuit which includes Rahul Sachdev, Mukund Bhardia, Bharat Sisodiya, Hasan Badami will lead the field in the Sterlite Tech Cup India Open Snooker Championship which will begin at The Cue Club tables, Vimannagar from March 21.

The 12-day tournament offers a total cash prize of Rs. 1,60,000.  The winner stands to gain Rs. 70,000 while runner-up received Rs. 30,000 cash and trophies. Cash awards and trophies will be offered from the semifinal stage onwards.

The local players in action include defending champ Anand Raghuwanshi, Yogesh Sharma, Aranta Sanches, Taha Khan.
Most of the upcoming local players hail from popular clubs from the city which include PYC Gymkhana, Deccan Gymkhana, Corner Pocket, Poona Club, Turf Club, The Cue Club, Arizona, Poona Goan Institute to name a few.”

The tournament also includes participants from Mumbai, Thane, Chiplun, Satara, Nashik, Kolhapur, Karad, Solapur apart from Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Chennai and Hyderabad.
