Flying on airlines with your four-legged family members really isn’t a smart idea.
A few dozen pets die or are injured on U.S. airlines every year because of the harsh conditions of flying as cargo. They can get tossed around inside their crates or freak out from strange noises and dark isolation. Some claw or chew their way out of crates, while others get so anxious they suffer cardiac arrest. Undiagnosed illnesses surface. Overweight dogs and short-nosed breeds are at particular risk.
