MANGALURU: Right-wing activists allegedly thrashed two youths from minority community after they were found with girls from majority community, at Karinja, Bantwal taluk, about 30kms from here.
The incident took place on Monday evening, when two Muslim youths, working as auto rickshaw drivers took five girls, including two Hindu girls, for a stroll at the Karinja Temple.
Police said the girls were attending tuitions every day in
Madanthyar and auto driver
Irfan used to ferry them to and fro. However, on Monday, he went along with girls to the temple premises along with one of his friends.
After reaching temple premises, they were clicking selfies and activists from right wing noticed it. They later questioned and thrashed them. After which, they took them including girls to
Punjalakatte police station.
Police said, they have booked Indian Penal Code 109 case against saffron chauvinists as victims did not come forward to book a complaint.
