I had the pleasure of speaking with Pete Tomassi, who is running for a seat on our town board. He wants to be a part of serving and improving our town.

I know he will listen to us citizens as we all have ideas what we feel are best for our community. Pete was interested in my history here in Berthoud because of so many years I promoted my town. We discussed how we both felt about growth, how we can bring more good businesses here to downtown, also to the commercial district, how the Love's truck stop would bring in much needed sales tax. These are the taxes we need to build a new covered swimming pool, community building, trails, more parks. To mention parks, we have a large wonderful area called Waggener Park; thanks to the family for helping the town purchase the land. I was on the original parks and trails committee, and I told Pete we really need to do some serious planning before we jump in there throwing this and that in that park. There are restrictions that went with property.

I know it is hard for some who have lived here a long time to see the change and the changes to come to our community, but I feel with the right Town Board leading us, we will have good representation.

After talking to Pete and throwing ideas around, I feel he is a very sincere and honest person. I would highly recommend him to serve on Berthoud's town board.
