Liverpool news: Mohamed Salah to Real Madrid transfer warning due to Gareth Bale

LIVERPOOL should brace themselves for a huge bid from Real Madrid in the summer for Mohamed Salah.

That’s the opinion of BBC Sport pundit and former Tottenham striker Garth Crooks, who admits Liverpool could struggle to hold on to Salah.

The Egypt international continued his incredible scoring form with a sensational four goals in the 5-0 win over Watford on Saturday.

Salah is now the leading goalscorer in Europe’s top five leagues with 28 in just 30 games as well as providing 10 assists.

His performances have led to some reports suggesting the likes of Real are lining up a sensational bid at the end of the season.

And Crooks sees many similarities between Salah and Bale’s final year at Tottenham before he moved to the Bernabeu.

“Everything this man touches seems to turn to gold,” Crooks said on the BBC Sport website.

“Thirty-six goals in 41 appearances for Liverpool is quite extraordinary.

“Former Liverpool greats like Peter Thompson and Steve Highway never got anywhere near that return.

“Liverpool fans may have to brace themselves, however, for an audacious bid from Real Madrid in the summer.

“This lad is having the same impact across Europe as Gareth Bale had in his final season at Tottenham. And we all know what happened after that.”
