HP CM stresses on preservation of cultural ethos

Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Sunday said that it was vital to preserve and conserve the rich cultural ethos of the ancient Indian culture.

The Chief Minister was talking to the mediapersons at the sidelines of the 'Indian New Year-2075' function jointly organized by Himachal Pradesh Art, Culture and Language Academy, Thakur Jagdev Chand Research Institute, Neri Hamirpur and Sanskaar Bharti Himachal Pradesh at historic Gaiety Theatre here.

Thakur said that our culture was rich, diverse and preaches peaceful co-existence.

He said that we all should be proud of our cultural philosophy and work for promoting the same. Only those civilizations progress that loves and respects its culture and traditions, added he.

The Chief Minister further said that the state of Himachal Pradesh is known as "Dev Bhoomi' for its peace loving people who have great respect for their traditions.

He also wished the people of the state a very happy and prosperous Indian New Year.
