The BSE Sensex shed 252 points to close at 32,923 on Monday dragged down by banking, metal, energy and IT shares. With that, the 30-scrip BSE benchmark index marked a closing below the 33,000 mark for the first time in over 14 weeks. The National Stock Exchange benchmark index Nifty settled at 10,094. 39 stocks on the 50-scrip Nifty ended the day in the negative zone. HCL Tech, Tata Steel, BPCL, IOCL and Tech Mahindra - finishing between 3.7 per cent and 4.7 per cent lower - were among the top losers on the Nifty 50.
