Various parts of Punjab and Haryana are likely to receive rainfall over the coming days.
“A fresh western disturbance is set to make headway into the region, increasing chances of rainfall in some parts of the region,” said a Met official. The temperatures remained above normal level at most places in Punjab and Haryana on Sunday.
The Union Territory of Chandigarh, joint capital of the two States, recorded maximum temperature at 29.7 degree Celsius and minimum at 14.2 degree Celsius, one degree above normal.
In Punjab, the maximum temperature in holy city-Amritsar settled at 28.7 degrees. Both Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperature at 30.8 degrees Celsius.
In neighboring Haryana, the maximum temperature in Ambala was recorded at 29.9 degrees, Hisar 34 degrees, Narnaul 35.5 degrees and Bhiwani 32.4 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature recorded was 16.5 degrees in Ambala, 14.2 degree Celsius in Bhiwani, 11.7 degrees in Hisar, 10 degrees in Hisar, 12.5 degree Celsius in Narnaul, 11.6 degree Celsius in Amritsar, 12.4 degree in Ludhiana and 14.6 degrees in Patiala. Minimum temperatures across Himachal Pradesh plummeted sharply on Sunday. The minimum temperature in the State capital, Shimla was recorded at 7.7 degree.
