PALM COAST — A Palm Coast man found hiding in a bush clad only in blue boxer shorts was arrested after a foot chase Monday morning by a deputy who was seeking to serve a warrant at the man's home.

Eric William Ferrante, 25, of Bird of Paradise Drive, reportedly ran out the back door of the home after he spotted a deputy approaching about 8:30 a.m.. He was seen running down Burning Bush Drive and onto Barrister Lane, according to an arrest report from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies, including a K-9 unit, joined the search before finding Ferrante about an hour later attempting to hide in a bush near the intersection of Barrington and Barrister drives, the report states.

Ferrante was wanted on a warrant after his bond was revoked in reference to a burglary arrest. He was most recently arrested March 8 on charges of burglary, possession of cannabis and failure to appear.

"A warrant service became a foot chase because he decided to run." Sheriff Rick Staly said in a media release. "If you run from us, you'll only go to jail tired and with more charges."
