Ant McPartlin ‘arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following car crash’ in west London
ANT MCPARTLIN has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a car crash in west London, according to reports. The Saturday Night Takeaway host was thought to have hit two cars with his Mini.
It is believed that Ant was arrested at 4pm earlier today following a “three-car smash”.
Reports suggest that the stalwart face of ITV’s Mini veered into the wrong lane after a sharp bend on Lower Richmond Road in south west London.
The 42-year-old allegedly hit a green Mini and a BMW X5.
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative of Ant who declined to comment.
A witness at the time explained what they saw.
The source said: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw who it was.
"There were about six or seven police cars in total.”
Another source told the publication: “I came on the scene moments after it happened and he was being escorted to the police car to be put in the back.

“Everyone was in a state of shock at who it was.
“I was driving past very slowly and Ant looked straight at me and I thought he looked tired. I was only about 3ft from him.
“His eyes looked very heavy and he had a solemn face - it looked like his world had just ended.”
The witness explained he was the only one being put in a police car.

A third explained the bang was so loud they thought it was a “train crash”.
"There's a level-crossing nearby and I genuinely thought a train had wiped out a car," they explained.
The witness added: “Near a bend in the road there were two badly damaged Minis which looked as though they’d collided and a BMW X5 — and people wandering around in shock."It is thought that a child passenger in one of the cars was taken to hospital for a precautionary check-up, according to the Met.
