Light to moderate rain/thunder showers have been forecast at a few places in Uttarakhand on March 21. Meanwhile, a sunny day with mild wind was witnessed in the State capital and other parts of the State on Sunday with the maximum temperature settling at 30.3 ° C and the minimum hovering at 11.9 °C in the city on the day.
The highest maximum temperature 31.4°C was recorded at Jaspur in Udham Singh Nagar district while lowest minimum temperature 1.4°C was recorded at Matela, Almora district.
Uttarakhand Meteorological centre director Bikram Singh said that rain/snow is in store as a fresh feeble western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region from Monday. Very light to light rain/thunder showers is likely to occur at a few places in Uttarakhand on March 22. Singh said that the climate would again change from Monday thanks to the advent of a fresh though feeble western disturbance.
“It will trigger a wet spell in the higher reaches of Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and some other districts for a couple of days from Tuesday evening. Following this, the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to dip by few degrees in higher reaches,” he said.
