Shaw looks certain to leave Manchester United this summer after he was hammered by Jose Mourinho on Saturday night.

And it has emerged that Shaw is furious with his manager after being hooked at half time against Brighton.

Paddy Power have slashed odds on an exit this summer and have priced Everton up as 7/2 favourites to sign him.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “It looks as though the Brighton game was the final straw for Shaw.

“There’s only so much mugging off one man can take, and we make Goodison Park his next club of choice. Though a return to Saints is an interesting prospect, too.”

Former club Southampton are also in the running at 6/1 with West Ham 13/2 and Leicester 7/1 while tottenham are 9/1.

Shaw joined United from Southampton in a deal worth £30million but he has struggled with fitness and injuries.

He suffered a horrific leg break under Louis van Gaal and has struggled to return to form under Mourinho.

Express Sport understands he will be among the players sold this summer as Mourinho tries to rebuild his side.

Former West Ham striker Cottee admits a player can sometimes never do enough to please a manager.

“It’s not Luke Shaw’s fault, he was already at the club,” Cottee told Sky Sports.

“Mourinho’s arrived and sometimes managers just get it in their mind that they don’t fancy a particular player.

“No matter what you do as a player, you can’t always convince that man you are the right person.

“I’ve watched Luke Shaw when he’s played for United and I think he’s done well.

“But he just doesn’t seem to be playing with the confidence he had at Southampton.

“I think Mourinho’s tried all the tactics that he can. We always say you put your arm around a player or you have a go at a player, but it looks like he’s tried everything with Luke Shaw.

“Sometimes, if it’s not working, you’ve got to say ‘do you know what, we’ve got to cut our losses here, Luke needs to make the decision to move on’.”
