President Ram Nath Kovind today said, innovation can make India a better and collaborative society.
Addressing the Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President said, climate change and communicable diseases can be tackled through innovation.
On the occasion, Mr Kovind also gave away Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Awards. He said the awards are a unique initiative to recognise and reward innovations and foster a supportive ecosystem for young innovators.
AIR correspondent reports the festival will provide a platform for innovators to build linkages with potential stakeholders whose support can improve their prospects in coming years to develop their ideas into implementable projects for the larger social good.
Mr Kovind said, there is need to build an ecosystem for converting innovations into enterprises and it requires support for start-ups and for incubating young innovators.
He said, the vision of a newer and better India calls for meeting certain developmental milestones, some of these as early as 2022 when the country will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Independence.
